8th pass/above or any equivalent from recognized board, Medically fit, Eye glasses permitted, No color blindness, Age: 17.5 - 25 years
Course Outline
Introduction to shipping industry , Ship familiarization, Front office operations and management, F&B Services, Customer care operations, Guest handling procedures, Dining service method & procedures, Housekeeping organization, Lifesaving appliances, Survival at Sea, Swimming, Personality development, English & Computer etc.
Certificates Provided
After successful completion of the training, the course certificate will be issued by the academy approved by Director General of Shipping, Ministry of surface and Transport govt. of India. In addition to that candidate will be awarded with INDOS & Foreign CDC (Continuous Discharge Certificate). In addition to that candidate may take Experience certificate from Hotel/ Hospitality Industry.
Career Prospects
The Candidate After completions of pre-sea training Courses has to Sail or undergo On-board training. A competent person can rise to the level of Catering officer or purser on board a merchant ship after required sea time and passing various exams.
